Regional Competition Pt 3

After Medea went up we all scrambled to get into costume and makeup. There was a green room we had access to, and the energy inside was tangible. Everyone was so focused and prepared. We huddled up to have a last minute chat beforehand, and we all said something in turn. By the end, half us were in tears but everyone was ready.

We made our way backstage and began prepping. Props were all in proper places, techies were ready, we were ready. I'm not completely sure as to what happened, but someone said something about the sound system being messed up, and I guess that caused a slight delay. We then got the signal: "Laney Drama, Are You READY?"

The yell that ensued was a release of months of work, focus, and concentration; all exhaled with an almost barbaric undertone that seemed to say: "See you on the other side."

And so it began.
